Our mission is to bring clarity to strengths and challenges for self-empowerment by providing practical recommendations for success. By identifying the presence of a disability or characteristics of giftedness and to analyze the individual’s pattern of strengths and needs to determine the impact on this person’s daily functioning.

Each evaluation is uniquely tailored to the individual’s needs based on their goals.

A wide variety of data sources, formal and informal, are utilized in conjunction with clinical expertise to make recommendations to support the individual’s goals.

These evaluation services are available for adult clients: age 18 and up.

Psycho-Educational Evaluation

A psycho-education evaluation is used to identify the presence of a disability, identify a cognitive profile for an individual or identify the presence of gifted characteristics.

  • An extensive written report with a summary and interpretation of each assessment
  • A detailed diagnosis of the condition, if appropriate
  • Identified patterns and impact of individual strengths and weaknesses
  • Specific recommendation designed to meet the individuals needs and goals.

Types of Evaluations

Comprehensive Evaluation

A comprehensive evaluation includes a complete psycho-educational battery which is necessary to determine whether an individual meets the criteria of having a disability or has gifted characteristics.  This evaluation will include informal measure, intellectual/cognitive tests, and academic achievement tests. Observations are also incorporated which may include descriptions of response analysis, fatigue, frustration, attention, motivation, learning style, and error analysis. The evaluation determines the levels of intellectual functions and academic skill levels and provides a comprehensive profile of the individual’s strengths and needs and functioning within their academic or professional environment.

Specialized Evaluation

This evaluation includes all of the components of the Comprehensive Evaluation and also incorporates additional batteries based on the purpose of the assessment.  This could include: Dyslexia evaluations, Executive Functioning evaluations, Memory scales, and/or Career/Vocational assessment. Students who may be accessing post-secondary educational (ie. college, trade schools, services) must have this type of evaluation to document the need for certain accommodations in their ongoing educational settings.  

Comprehensive Report of Findings

Upon completion, the client is provided a detailed written report which may include the following information:

  • Present level of functioning and performance (baseline data)
  • Deeper understanding of how the individual learns
  • Diagnosis and description of a condition
  • Research based recommendations
  • Referrals to other specialists
  • Specific accommodations and/or modifications to provide the individual with equal access educational opportunities
  • Clear interpretation of findings
